This research centre is located on the campus of McGill University and is shared by four major users including the Centre for Genomics and the Montreal Proteomics Centre. Distributed over six storeys, the building contains biomedical laboratories, robot rooms, an animal house and rooms for bioinformatics.

The realization of this project's complex program within the available budget required a significant exercise in rationalization and a close collaboration with the researchers, whose technical specifications were very high. The planning of the building provides an environment that promotes exchanges between researchers: spaces for formal and informal meetings are arranged around the upper atrium which serves to vertically connect the laboratory groups.
