The construction of the new pavilions for 'Quartier Concordia’ is the result of a national architectural competition. These buildings are the first phase of a new vertical campus. The Science Building has the largest area and includes classrooms, faculty offices and thirty research laboratories. The offices and classrooms are arranged on both sides of four atria superimposed over three storeys.

The atria act as common meeting, study and relaxation areas. The Visual Arts Pavilion houses the studios and the highly specialized facilities needed to create multimedia. Two major amphitheatres, an art gallery, various commercial areas and an experimental 'black box' room complete the program.
